The Department of Posts has planned to harness solar power by launching a project at its headquarters in Delhi and plans to expand it to its buildings spread across the country.
Department of Posts Secretary B V Sudhakar notified that they re examining the process of harnessing roof-top solar energy. To start with they are looking whether it can be done from the Delhi headquarter with 160 kw solar power plant.
He further mentioned that if the first attempt becomes a success then they would like to implement this process and slowly spread this to the rest of the 4,000 departmental buildings across the country.
