Prama India And C-DAC Partner For Thermal Camera Technology

Enters into a Transfer of Technology Agreement with C-DAC to produce, distribute, and provide support for cutting-edge solutions.

Prama India and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, entered into a technology partnership. This collaboration, formalised through a ‘Transfer of Technology’ (ToT) agreement, positions Prama India as a pivotal technology partner, authorising it to manufacture, market, and support advanced thermal camera solutions. This initiative is a testament to Prama India’s commitment to enhancing research and development (R&D) and fostering innovation within the thermal technology domain.

The announcement was made during the ‘Digital India FutureLabs’ launch event at IIITM, New Delhi, graced by the presence of Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Honourable Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Jal Shakti. The event also featured the unveiling of the “Digital India FutureLABS” by Shri Chandrasekhar, aimed to catalyze next-generation electronics system design and innovation.

Prama India’s collaboration with C-DAC is a stride towards realizing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India), aiming to achieve a developed and secure nation through indigenous manufacturing capabilities. This partnership marks a new milestone in Prama India’s journey towards indigenous manufacturing, underscoring its role as a leader in the video security products and allied systems industry.

The partnership is a stride in technological advancement and a commitment towards building India’s prowess in the global manufacturing landscape, particularly in video security products. Prama India’s manufacturing facility near Mumbai is a testament to this commitment, embodying the ethos of ‘Made for India, Made by India, and Made in India’.

Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar highlighted the Digital India FutureLABS initiative as a critical component of India’s innovation architecture, offering a platform for Indian startups to lead in next-gen electronics across various sectors. This initiative is expected to catalyze growth, enhance domestic R&D, and foster a collaborative ecosystem for developing IPs, standards, and advanced electronics system design.

Furthermore, the event witnessed the announcement of 22 MoUs between C-DAC and various industry stakeholders, aiming to implement the FutureLABS initiative. This endeavour seeks to tap into the burgeoning opportunities within the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, aiming to elevate India’s position in the global value chain and foster innovation in key areas such as compute, communication, automotive, strategic electronics, and industrial IoT. Through leveraging technologies like AI, Big Data, and Quantum Computing, the FutureLABS initiative marks a transformative phase in Indian research and development, setting the stage for India to become a global hub for video security products and innovation.
