First medium-duty EV Truck launched by Motiv Power Systems

  • Groundbreaking medium-duty EV cab designed from customer feedback, catering to Class 4-6 vehicles.
  • Argo Series trucks are available for pre-order, hitting the roads by late 2024.

Motiv Power Systems, a pioneering EV truck company headquartered in San Francisco, has launched the Argo Series electric truck, the industry’s first medium-duty EV cab designed from the ground up, incorporating invaluable customer feedback and fleet owner insights. This strategic move will expand Motiv’s market size and facilitate the growth of electric fleets for various companies.

The Argo Series trucks have been crafted to cater to a broad spectrum of medium-duty applications, spanning Class 4-6 vehicles, including box trucks, step vans, shuttle buses, refrigerated transport, vocational vehicles, and more. The core of the Argo Series is built on Motiv’s latest-generation powertrain, boasting remarkable torque capabilities and a substantial 150–200-mile range powered by LFP battery.

Motiv’s CEO, Tim Krauskopf, stated, “Argo combines our proven powertrain technology with a new driver-centric cab to deliver an unparalleled EV experience.”

One of the most striking features of the Argo cab is its pioneering design tailored for EV efficiency. The cab incorporates energy-saving elements, such as heat-integrated windshields, specially designed airflow for heated seats, and a compact bumper-to-cab distance for enhanced movability. The use of lightweight composites offsets the incremental battery weight, thereby boosting payload capacity.

It also has a Command Seating Position, born from real-world customer experience, which reduces driver fatigue and enhances visibility. The cab’s active and passive safety features and exceptional ingress/egress ergonomics further underscore its dedication to safety. Pre-orders for the Argo Series are currently open, with the trucks set to hit the roads by late 2024.

Motiv Power Systems has accumulated over 14 years of experience in the EV truck industry. This unparalleled experience laid the groundwork for creating the Argo Series. The timing couldn’t be more auspicious, as the market for medium-duty EVs experiences unprecedented growth due to tightening regulations and heightened commitments to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards. As Motiv Power Systems unleashes this innovative line of vehicles, the landscape of medium-duty EVs is poised for a remarkable transformation.
