Propel Industries’ EV Truck Offers Smart Connectivity And Zero Emissions

This truck is powered by high-capacity lithium-ion batteries, providing a notable range of up to 350 kilometres on a single charge. It also features a rapid charging system that can fully charge a 385 kWh battery in just 70 minutes, significantly reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.

Propel Industries recently introduced the 4×2 EV Tractor Trailer Truck – 470 eTR at Bauma CONEXPO India 2024. Shri Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, unveiled the truck to support the adoption of electric vehicles within the logistics and construction sectors in India, aiming to enhance sustainability.

The 470 eTR truck is powered by high-capacity lithium-ion batteries and promises a range of up to 350 kilometres on a single charge. Its fast-charging feature allows the batteries to be fully charged in just 70 minutes for a 385 kWh battery, significantly reducing downtime and boosting productivity. The truck has three battery size options—385, 480, and 550 kWh—to meet varying demands for application and distance.

This vehicle also produces zero tailpipe emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment. It is equipped with a potent 350 kW electric motor that delivers 2600 Nm of torque, providing strong performance and the ability to handle demanding tasks effortlessly.

At the launch event, Mr Senthil Kumar, Managing Director of Propel Industries, highlighted that over 120,000 cumulative hours were dedicated to testing the powertrain and other vital components. He emphasized that the truck’s durable chassis and high-quality materials ensure longevity and minimal maintenance, while its 55 Tons GCW capacity allows it to transport substantial loads efficiently.

Furthermore, the 470 eTR includes advanced smart connectivity features that integrate telematics and IoT solutions. These provide real-time data on performance, battery status, and route optimization, enhancing operational efficiency and offering valuable insights for fleet management.

Siddharth Kirtane, President of E.V. business at Propel Industries, mentioned that the 470 eTR Tractor Trailer is part of Propel Industries’ eco-friendly product lineup, which also includes the 470 MEV and 470 HEV designed for mining applications. The 470 HEV mining trucks have been certified for CMVR in the N3G category, affirming their roadworthiness, reliability, and safety.

Safety in the 470 eTR is reinforced with advanced driver assistance systems including ABS, EBS, ESC, HSA, and traction control, ensuring a secure driving and construction experience.
