A major boost to ‘Make in India’ — realme and Optiemus target 5 million AIoT devices annually, creating jobs and strengthening local manufacturing.
In a significant move toward bolstering India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, realme, one of India’s fastest-growing tech brands, has partnered with Optiemus Electronics Ltd. (OEL) to locally produce its next-generation AIoT product range. The collaboration underscores realme’s commitment to the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ vision and aims to establish India as a global hub for smart device innovation.
As part of this partnership, realme plans to manufacture its entire AIoT lineup in India, including hearables, wearables, and tablets. Production has already begun for the realme Buds T200 Lite, a feature-packed earbud designed for crystal-clear calling with Dual Mic AI Deep Call Noise Cancellation and DNN voice recognition.
Starting this year, locally assembled devices such as the realme Buds T200 series, Buds Wireless, and Buds Air will roll out from OEL’s advanced production facilities. Beyond final assembly, realme is working to increase sourcing of core components like PCBAs, batteries, mechanics, chargers, and cables from Indian suppliers.
The partnership also targets the production of 5 million AIoT units annually, generating more than 2,000 new jobs and driving the growth of a robust domestic supply chain. Speaking about the alliance, a realme spokesperson stated, “India is a rapidly evolving market for AI-driven smart devices. Partnering with Optiemus Electronics strengthens our goal to not only meet local demand but also position India as an export-ready, innovation-driven production base.”
Echoing the excitement, Mr. Ashok Gupta, Chairman of Optiemus Group, added, “This collaboration reflects our shared vision of making cutting-edge AIoT devices in India. Together, we are enabling smarter, more efficient products while contributing to employment growth and the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.”
This partnership is another strategic step for realme, which has seen explosive growth in India’s smartphone and AIoT segments. The company aims to scale its footprint further by combining advanced technology with locally anchored manufacturing, reinforcing its ‘Make it real’ philosophy.
