Eyeing to boost IIT Madras startup Tunga’s presence in India, tech company Redington has teamed up to deploy the former’s advanced UAVs for enterprise and defence sectors.
Redington Limited, a Chennai-based integrated IT solutions provider, has announced a partnership with Tunga Aerospace Industries, a deep-tech startup based at IIT Madras Research Park. This collaboration aims to introduce Tunga’s unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the Indian market, supporting both enterprise and defence applications.
Redington will leverage its vast distribution network to roll out Tunga’s UAV models across India, including Drishya Lite, Drishya Pro, and Sahasraksha AI. These UAVs incorporate advanced technologies such as autonomous navigation, real-time tracking, and thermal imaging.
Cdr Ramesh Madhavan, co-founder and COO of Tunga Aerospace highlighted the responsibility placed on deep-tech startups to contribute to India’s self-reliance. He stated, “With Redington’s powerful pan-India reach, we aspire to deliver our Make in India UAVs across the country to fulfil the Atmanirbhar Bharat aspirations of our nation.”
R. Venkatesh, President of Redington’s Technology Solutions Group, also expressed excitement about the collaboration. He stated that this partnership expands Redington’s portfolio and empowers businesses to harness the potential of drone technology.
“Together, we aim to drive the adoption of drone technology across various industries, enabling businesses to achieve new heights of growth and success,” he said.
However, none of the companies have disclosed the financial information of the deal yet.
