Blending Samsung’s Tizen OS with Videotex’s manufacturing strength, a new wave of smart TVs to hit India soon, promising premium features, seamless connectivity, and ‘Make in India’ momentum.
Videotex International Pvt Ltd has partnered with Samsung to manufacture smart televisions powered by Samsung’s Tizen OS at its facilities in Greater Noida. The company highlighted that this move combines Samsung’s software expertise with their design and production capabilities, promising better TV experiences for Indian consumers.
Videotex claims to be the largest ODM for webOS Hub TVs in India. With the addition of Tizen OS to its portfolio, the company now looks to offer a broader range of operating systems and advanced smart TV solutions to the domestic market.
The new line of Tizen-powered televisions will span multiple screen sizes, from 32-inch to 75-inch, and formats such as HD, FHD, UHD/4K, QLED, and MiniLED. Consumers will gain access to features, including advanced content discovery, Samsung TV Plus with free ad-supported streaming channels, voice assistant Bixby, and seamless device connectivity via SmartThings.
Videotex currently produces televisions for more than 25 brands, including Lloyd, BPL, Reconnect, Vise, and Daiwa. Its Noida units are equipped with automated assembly lines, R&D labs, injection moulding, and advanced quality testing.
“This synergy will deliver premium, intuitive, and immersive entertainment experiences to Indian households,” said Arjun Bajaj, Director, Videotex. The company said the Samsung partnership will further strengthen its role in India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative while delivering next-generation TVs at scale.
