German printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer Schweizer Electronic AG and ILJIN Electronics (India) Pvt. Ltd., part of the Amber Group, have announced a strategic cooperation to strengthen PCB supply chains between Europe and India.
The partnership will leverage ILJIN Electronics’ PCB manufacturing business, particularly Ascent Circuits, alongside Schweizer Electronic’s expertise in automotive and industrial PCB technologies. The partnership is focused towards increasing the demand from automotive and industrial customers across Europe and the United States.
Initially, the companies will focus on manufacturing standard automotive and industrial PCBs using existing production capabilities. They also plan to develop a roadmap for advanced multilayer and High-Density Interconnect (HDI) PCB technologies as manufacturing capacity expands in India.
The cooperation is expected to broaden sourcing options, improve supply-chain resilience, and support future technology development while aligning customer requirements, production capacity, technical capabilities, and commercial competitiveness.
The partnership reflects the growing importance of India as a global electronics manufacturing hub and highlights increasing industrial collaboration between India and Germany in advanced manufacturing and electronics.
