According to an iSuppli report, growth in the semiconductor industry is likely to continue into 2011, although at a much lower pace than in 2010, moving the semiconductor industry’s economy into a soft landing recovery phase. Global semiconductor revenue in 2011 is expected to reach US$ 317.4 billion, up from the US$ 302 billion projected for this year.
iSuppli further noted that there are indications that softening demand will take hold in some segments, though the data processing segment comprising computer systems and peripherals will represent the largest semiconductor consuming application in 2010, accounting for 40 per cent market share.
