Bringing intelligent automation and ‘Made in India’ solutions to global markets, Sona Comstar and NEURA Robotics join forces to develop advanced robots and humanoids.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (Sona Comstar), a global mobility technology company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Germany-based NEURA Robotics GmbH to jointly develop advanced robotic technologies and humanoids.
The agreement, signed in Metzingen, Germany, aims to industrialise next-generation robotics solutions for India and other international markets.
The collaboration will focus on developing advanced components, sub-assemblies, and automation systems by combining Sona Comstar’s engineering and manufacturing with NEURA Robotics’ innovations in cognitive and intelligent robotics.
The companies stated that the partnership supports India’s ambition to strengthen its robotics and automation ecosystem while promoting ‘Made in India’ technologies for global deployment.
Vivek Vikram Singh, Managing Director and Group CEO of Sona Comstar, said the partnership marks a strategic move beyond the company’s traditional automotive base. “This partnership extends our vision of advancing intelligent manufacturing and next-generation mobility solutions,” he said.
David Reger, Founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, described the alliance as a meeting of two innovation-driven companies. “Together, Sona Comstar and NEURA will redefine scalability and innovation in robotics, creating impactful solutions for one of the world’s fastest-growing markets,” he said.
The partnership comes as AI, perception, and control advances, along with falling computing costs, drive rapid growth in robotics, enabling safer, more flexible, and efficient automation across manufacturing and logistics.
Founded in 1995, Sona Comstar is headquartered in Gurugram, India, and operates globally across the USA, Mexico, Serbia, China, and India. NEURA Robotics, founded in 2019, is known for pioneering cognitive robotics that can see, hear, and learn autonomously.
