Wednesday, March 19, 2014: Su-Kam Power Systems has made its first solar installation at the capital city of Agartala in Tripura.
The off-grid solar PV (photovoltaic) plant is installed in the Ujjayanta Market Complex in the city. Su-Kam is a power back-up solutions provider, which forayed in the solar energy sector just recently.
Ashish Sethi, the vice president of Solar Business Su-Kam said, “As part of our solar plan this fiscal, we shall continue making solar power available to both the residential, as well as, commercial sector in North East India,” in a public statement.
The company was commissioned to install and maintain the solar project by the Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA) in Agartala., under the Government of Tripura.
With the growing governmental concern and added subsidies, many companies have shifted focus to renewable energy, specifically the solar energy sources. This project is one of the first few projects in the state.
