Syrma SGS will hold a 60% stake in the joint venture company
To serve Japanese customers in India, Syrma SGS Technology has recently collaborated with Kaga Electronics.
This collaboration will develop and operate a technologically advanced EMS manufacturing facility in India. Its primary focus will be on serving Japanese clients who require reliable manufacturing capabilities in the country.
In this partnership, Syrma SGS will hold a 60% stake in the joint venture company (JVCo), while Kaga Electronics India Private Limited will own the remaining 40%. But Syrma SGS will make an initial investment of 15 crore, whereas Kaga will invest ₹10 crore.
Both companies have their own expertise. Under this collaboration, Syrma SGS will offer its manufacturing expertise and local market presence, whereas Kaga Electronics share strong relationships with Japanese customers and the global electronics ecosystem. The venture aims to leverage India’s growing electronics manufacturing landscape and support global companies looking to diversify their supply chains.
The filing further stated that any future issuance of shares will be carried out at fair market value, determined in accordance with applicable laws and based on an independent valuation report.
The move comes at a time when India is emerging as a preferred destination for electronics manufacturing, driven by government incentives, a growing supplier base, and increasing demand from global customers seeking alternative production hubs outside traditional manufacturing centres.
This partnership may strengthen India’s position in the global EMS market while creating new opportunities for technology transfer, local manufacturing, and export-oriented production.
