Tata Electronics has signed 16 MoUs spanning fabrication, packaging, materials and training to strengthen the semiconductor supply chain around its Dholera and Assam facilities.
Tata Electronics has signed 16 MoUs with domestic and international companies and institutions at SEMICON India 2026, expanding the supplier and technology ecosystem around its semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Dholera, Gujarat, and Jagiroad, Assam.
The partnerships cover front-end wafer fabrication, assembly and testing, advanced packaging, semiconductor materials and chemicals, fab infrastructure, chip design, supplier development, and workforce training. Nexperia will work with Tata Electronics on wafer fabrication, back-end assembly and testing, including its MOSFET portfolio at the 300mm Dholera fab and discrete products at Jagiroad. Besi will support advanced packaging.
Fujifilm plans to invest about ₹800 crore in phases for a semiconductor materials plant at Dholera, alongside efforts to localise critical raw materials and support Indian chemical manufacturers. JSR, Sumitomo, Sojitz and Enomoto are also among the Japanese partners. Other partners include Kelington, Ascendas Firstspace, L&T Semiconductor Technologies, Inox Air Products, Semi-Conductor Laboratory and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya.
More than 450 ecosystem partners are already involved around the Dholera fab. Tata Electronics said both its Dholera fab and Assam packaging facility remain on track against their government commitments.
The wider semiconductor ecosystem is also attracting major investments. Applied Materials announced a US$5 billion, 10-year India investment plan covering R&D, supply-chain development and talent, while India has attracted $11–12 billion in semiconductor investment interest under Semicon 2.0, according to Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
