Driving Mauritius’ shift towards sustainable, high-performance electric mobility solutions, TATA.ev expands with Allied Motors, launching Tiago, Punch, and Nexon EVs.
TATA.ev, the electric vehicle division of Tata Motors, has officially entered the Mauritian market through a partnership with Allied Motors, one of the country’s leading automobile distributors. This marks TATA.ev’s first international expansion beyond the SAARC region.
The new electric vehicle portfolio includes the Tiago, Punch, and Nexon. These models are built on high-voltage electric platforms designed to deliver performance, safety, comfort, and low maintenance.
Yash Khandelwal, Head of International Business at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, highlighted Mauritius as a key market for green mobility.
“Our diverse range of EVs—spanning multiple body styles and battery options—combined with an unmatched ownership experience and the strong partnership of Allied Motors, sets the stage for a transformative shift in Mauritius’ automotive landscape,” he noted.
Allied Motors’ Managing Director, James Ngan, welcomed the partnership, stating it would introduce efficient, technologically advanced electric vehicles to the Mauritian market.
“This is just the beginning, and we are excited about the positive impact these EVs will have in revolutionising Mauritius’ automotive landscape,” he said.
The Tiago EV is designed for urban commuting, featuring multi-mode regeneration, dual driving modes, and compact dimensions. It offers a range of 190–210km and supports fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in under an hour.
The Punch EV, a compact SUV, comes with a 35kWh battery and 90kW motor, offering up to 290km range. Key features include wireless smartphone connectivity, advanced infotainment, and safety-enhancing technologies.
For customers seeking a higher range and performance, the Nexon EV offers up to 375 km on a full charge, a 106kW motor, and advanced features including a 360-degree surround-view camera.
Each model includes long-term battery and vehicle warranties, along with complimentary home charging equipment.
