Launching a large scale EV charging hub near Mumbai airport Tata Power and Tata Motors boost clean mobility adoption.
Tata Power in collaboration with Tata Passenger Electric Mobility inaugurated Mumbai’s first premium large scale electric vehicle charging hub under the TATA.ev MegaCharger initiative.
The facility located near Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport within The Leela Mumbai Hotel premises is designed to serve a wide range of EV users from private car owners to taxis ride hailing fleets and logistics operators.
Equipped with eight fast DC chargers capable of speeds up to 120 kW the hub offers 16 charging bays allowing as many as 16 vehicles to charge simultaneously. This setup positions it among Mumbai’s largest and most advanced EV charging stations. By addressing long wait times the MegaCharger hub aims to ensure a seamless and efficient charging experience even during peak demand.
The launch adds to Tata Power’s growing EV infrastructure in the city which already includes over 1000 green charging points. The company has been steadily expanding its charging network nationwide supporting India’s transition towards clean mobility.
Tata Passenger Electric Mobility India’s leading four wheeler EV manufacturer said the partnership reflects its commitment to building a robust ecosystem for EV adoption. The initiative is expected to encourage greater EV uptake in Mumbai by providing reliable high capacity charging solutions at a strategic location.
