Samsung will train 20,000 students in AI, IoT, Big Data, and coding through its expanded Innovation Campus, boosting India’s electronics talent pipeline and aligning with Digital India goals.
Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, announced a six-fold expansion of its flagship skilling initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), set to train 20,000 students in 2025. The programme, which upskilled 3,500 students in 2024, will now become one of the largest private-sector contributions to India’s future-tech workforce.
The initiative will extend its footprint from four to ten states, with a strong focus on Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, each expected to train 5000 students. Other participating states include Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
Two key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) underpin the scale-up. The Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) will train 10,000 students in emerging technologies across five states, while the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) will train another 10,000 in five additional states. Both councils, approved by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), will deliver training through accredited centres.
Students will receive training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding & Programming, alongside soft skills to improve workplace readiness. Eligible participants will also be supported with placement assistance.
Since its India launch in 2022, SIC has trained 6500 students. The programme, aligned with the Government of India’s Digital India and Skill India initiatives, aims to democratise access to future-tech skills, with a focus on underserved communities.
“Samsung is proud to be a long-standing partner in India’s growth journey… We remain committed to expanding access to skilling and employment opportunities, especially for students from underserved communities, and to support the Government’s vision of a digitally-empowered India,” said JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia.
This expansion strengthens Samsung’s role in India’s electronics and digital talent pipeline, supporting the country’s ambitions to become a global electronics hub while reinforcing the company’s CSR strategy as a business enabler.
