Tata Power Brings Affordable Solar Rooftop Solutions

Low-cost solar rooftop systems in Odisha starting at just ₹2,499, with flexible financing and government subsidies, the company aims to power 3 lakh homes in the state and 10 lakh across India, making clean energy accessible, stylish, and budget-friendly.

Tata Power Brings Affordable Solar Rooftop Solutions

Tata Power Brings Affordable Solar Rooftop Solutions Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a leading name in India’s solar rooftop market and a subsidiary of Tata Power, has launched affordable solar rooftop systems in Odisha under its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign. This initiative aims to promote clean energy and make solar power accessible to every home.

The company is offering rooftop solar systems at attractive starting prices—just ₹2,499 for 1 kW, ₹4,999 for 2 kW, and ₹7,999 for 3 kW systems. Customers only need to pay one-third of the total cost upfront, with the rest covered through flexible financing options. This approach removes the cost barrier and makes switching to solar simple and economical for households across the state.

To further encourage adoption, the company has partnered with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA). Under the central government’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, families can get subsidies up to ₹78,000 for 3 kW systems—covering nearly 40% of the cost. In addition, the Odisha government is offering extra subsidies of ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 based on system size.

The company has also introduced premium lifestyle solar products, such as MySine, a compact solar system with battery backup, and Solar Design Spaces, a range of designer rooftop installations that combine beauty with sustainability. The impact of the campaign is already visible. In just one year, rooftop solar customers in Odisha increased from 430 to 1,759. In FY25, 1,033 new residential customers joined—10 times more than in FY24. Even in the commercial and industrial sector, adoption is rising.

With strong backing, expert service, and easy financing, Tata Power is helping more homes in Odisha and across India shift to clean, green solar energy.
