This 110 MW solar power project will help meet the green energy requirements of the state of Kerala
A subsidiary of Tata Power, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) recently announced the commissioning of a 110 megawatt (MW) solar energy project at Bikaner, in Rajasthan. Claiming it to be one of the fastest commissioned projects in Rajasthan, the statement released by Tata Power said that the project will supply 110 MW of green power to the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). The company mentioned that the project used 2,59,272 mono-bifacial PERC half-cell modules and it was completed within 7 months despite various climatic and geopolitical challenges.
Tata Power expects this project to generate nearly 211 million units (MU) of green electricity and reduce 2,58,257 metric tonnes (MT) of carbon footprint annually. It is further learnt that with the current installation, the total renewables capacity of TPREL reached 6,788 MW with an installed capacity of 4,047 MW.
The CEO of TPREL, Ashish Khanna said: “The commissioning of such big projects within a stipulated time frame reaffirms Tata Power Renewable’s commitment of making substantial contributions towards the green energy transition in the country.”
