Saturday, May 17, 2014: After being exposed to such rigorous test conditions, less than one per cent degradation was experienced in the modules of Tata Power Solar.
The crystalline PV modules manufactured by Tata Power Solar have passed the potential induced degradation (PID) test, conducted by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). UL is a global independent safety science company, operating in the space of product safety testing and certification. The UL had testes Tata Power Solar’s PV modules under the harshest PID-test conditions. The conditions involved in the test included:
Temperature of 85 ± 5°C. Negative voltage of 1,000 volts. Relative humidity of 85 percent. Test period of 96 hours.
After being exposed to such rigorous test conditions, less than one per cent degradation was experienced in the modules of Tata Power Solar. The accepted level, however, is between 4 and 5 per cent. The strong performance of Tata Power Solar’s modules under such extreme conditions showcases the superior quality and reliability of its products.
