The facility in Kolkata will enable businesses to develop, test, and scale AI solutions tailored to various industries, further strengthening TCS’ global Gemini Experience Centre network.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) along with Google Cloud officially unveiled their Gemini Experience Centre (GEC) in Kolkata to fast-track the implementation of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) across consumer-centric businesses, Moneycontrol reported.
The Kolkata center is TCS’ eighth global and third Indian facility dedicated to Gemini Experience, following similar setups in Chennai and Bengaluru.
The newly inaugurated centre will cater to the consumer business group (CBG) and will demonstrate the potential of AI solution designs on Google Cloud and Gemini for sectors such as consumer-packaged goods (CPG), travel and hospitality, and retail.
Per Moneycontrol, the IT services giant TCS plans to further expand its GEC network across 10 global locations by end of next year with at least four being located in India.
In Kolkata, it would also act as a co-creation space, enabling organisations to conduct proofs of concepts, demos, and workshop sessions on AI use cases prior to implementation at scale.
TCS has already developed over 3000 context- and industry-aware AI agents using the Gemini Enterprise model, and would showcase a variety of AI solutions at the centre, including store operations, supply chain management, omni-channel retail, customer services, warehouse operations, supplier on-boarding, intelligent invoice processing, agentic commerce, hybrid search, contact center automation and HR operations.
The launch of the Gemini Experience Centre in Kolkata marks a crucial step in accelerating agentic AI adoption, empowering consumer businesses to co-create, test, and scale next-generation innovations,” said Shivir Chordia, Director of Partnerships, India, Google Cloud.
Murali Ramanathan, CTO, Consumer Business Group at TCS added, “The new centre offers a safe and innovative environment for enterprises to co-create, test, and scale their AI-driven offerings, furthering the capabilities of TCS and Google Cloud’s long-standing partnership and responding to the growing demand for enterprise generative and agentic AI solutions.”
