Terra Motors India, an EV ecosystem firm, is growing its Terra Charge electric vehicle charging network with new locations in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Gurgaon, Kolkata, and Chennai. The company is hiring for roles in engineering, technology, and growth to increase staff to over 250 by 2024. This expansion follows a USD 28 million Series C funding.
Akihiro Ueda, CEO of Terra Motors India, expressed excitement about the new offices and their potential for the company. Terra Motors aims to support the Government’s EV sales target of 30% by 2030 by developing products, innovating sales, and expanding distributor networks. The focus is on high-value EV charging services and exploring business opportunities.
Though last year’s financial figures are undisclosed, Terra Motors expects a USD 6,68,000 revenue for FY24. The funding will support expansion, and strategic locations for Terra Charge will enhance charging services in India.
Terra Motors plans to install 800-1000 charging points by March, with initial hubs in Haryana and expansion in West Bengal and Maharashtra. A partnership with SNM Cabs aims to develop charging hubs, including one near Pune airport and four more by March 2024.
Terra Motors’ new offices will enhance its role in the Indian EV market, offering advanced charging infrastructure and addressing the increasing demand for commercial EV charging. The company is also exploring further expansion and product innovation.
