Eyeing to support India’s goal for self-reliance in semiconductors, Caliber Interconnects joins forces with the centre’s C-DAC to build critical chip testing capacity.
Caliber Interconnects, a provider of semiconductor and electronics test solutions, has entered into a collavboration with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to develop advanced chip testing capabilities in India.
This will be for a specific semiconductor project identified as mission-critical by C-DAC. According to Caliber Interconnects, it was selected after a technical evaluation of its test infrastructure and engineering capacity.
The initiative will establish advanced testing processes to ensure the chip meets high-performance and reliability standards for production and deployment in the country.

Commenting on the deal, Mr Suresh Babu, Managing Director of Caliber Interconnects, noted, “This partnership is a significant step for India’s electronics and semiconductor sector.”He further acknowledged the role of his engineering team in supporting this initiative but did not comment on future business outcomes.
The company emphasised its commitment to strengthening India’s public sector, mentioning that their efforts in deep tech innovation are aimed at contributing to national progress.

Caliber Interconnects, based in Coimbatore, provides semiconductor and electronics test solutions. For over two decades, it has worked with clients in aerospace, defence, automotive, railways, and industrial electronics.
“We are honoured to support C-DAC in this mission-critical endeavour that contributes to India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision,” conveyed Mr Babu.
The C-DAC, established in 1988, operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It serves as a research and development (R&D) organisation in IT and electronics, focusing on areas such as high-performance computing, AI, cybersecurity, and multilingual computing.
