TP Solar Secures ₹455 Crore Solar Deal For ALMM Modules Supply

With deliveries set for 2025, this deal reinforces TP Solar’s leadership in India’s renewable energy sector and supports the country’s push for solar self-reliance.

TP Solar Secures ₹455 Crore Solar Deal For ALMM Modules Supply

TP Solar Limited, the solar manufacturing division of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), has secured a ₹455 crore contract from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL) to supply 300 MWp of ALMM-certified solar modules. These modules will be used for the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 project, aimed at enhancing solar power adoption in Maharashtra.

This contract further cements TP Solar’s reputation as a leading provider of high-quality solar modules in India. The ALMM-certified modules will be delivered across Maharashtra in 2025 as part of MSPGCL’s larger 750 MWp tender. The tender was awarded through a competitive e-Reverse Auction (eRA), ensuring cost efficiency and transparency in procurement.

TP Solar operates India’s largest single-location solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. With an annual production capacity of 4.3 GW for both cells and modules, the plant represents a significant step toward India’s renewable energy ambitions. Tata Power has invested approximately ₹4,300 crore in this advanced facility, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in solar manufacturing.

The Tirunelveli plant utilizes state-of-the-art technologies, including TOPCon and Mono PERC, to manufacture ALMM-certified and domestically produced DCR modules. This aligns with India’s push for clean energy and its Net-Zero carbon emission targets. By leveraging advanced technology and in-house manufacturing, TP Solar strengthens its leadership in both the rooftop and utility-scale solar sectors.
