Ultra miniature SMT switch

C&K Components has launched ultra miniature, side actuated tact switches for surface-mount termination.

Features and USP: An integrated side actuator with over travel ensures excellent shock resistance and yields an excellent tactile ratio of 30 per cent minimum, providing sharp feedback. Designated the NSS series, the low-profile switches with hard actuators are ideal for applications such as mobile phones, Bluetooth headsets and handheld electronics. The NSS series provides normally open contact and is designed to be compatible with surface mount technology termination. With a footprint of 4.8mm x 4.0mm and a low profile of 1.0mm, the switch enhances sleek and compact device designs. Its durability was proven in its high resistance to drop testing (up to 1m) and allows for more than 300,000 life cycles. It is RoHS compliant and is compatible with the lead-free reflow soldering process of SMT devices as well as pick-and-place machines. There is also a grounding pin for ESD and mechanical protection.
