Thursday, May 23, 2013: Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) has appointed Vinod Sharma, managing director at Deki Electronics, Noida, as the Chairman for 2013-15. Sharma has replaced S. Radhakrishnan (Managing Director of Descon Ltd). He was elected at the Committee elections of the ESC. The election was conducted on Monday.
It is worth mentioning here that ESC is a government-sponsored body and is India’s electronics and IT trade facilitation organisation. The council was formed in 1989, with an export performance of $200 million. The organisation has managed to reach a mark of $65 billion during 2010-11 in electronics and software exports. ESC currently has around 2,200 exporters as members.
