In his new role, he will support customers with AXI applications
ViTrox Americas has appointed Eric Cruz as Technical Support Engineer, strengthening its technical support team as the company expands its presence in the Americas.
Cruz has more than 20 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, with expertise in test engineering and inspection technologies. During his tenure at Flex in Austin, he held several positions ranging from In-Circuit Test (ICT) engineering to Global Subject Matter Expert for Automated X-ray Inspection (AXI), where he supported manufacturing operations and addressed complex process and equipment challenges.
After stepping away from the electronics manufacturing industry for several years to support his children’s career pursuits and operate a business, Cruz has returned to the SMT industry by joining ViTrox Americas.
In his new role, he will support customers with AXI applications while expanding his expertise in ViTrox’s Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) platforms. The company said he will be based in the Dallas area when ViTrox Americas opens its new office later this year.
Cruz’s professional background includes advanced X-ray inspection, process development, equipment support, and technical leadership across a range of manufacturing environments. ViTrox said he is recognized for his hands-on approach to problem-solving and his ability to work closely with customers to develop practical solutions.
Commenting on the appointment, Richard Osborne, Senior General Manager of ViTrox Americas, said Eric Cruz is a strong addition to the company’s growing team and highlighted his experience, enthusiasm for learning, and customer-focused approach.
