The engagement combines QNX software with VVDN’s hardware and design to support safety-critical automotive and industrial systems.
VVDN Technologies has announced to support embedded software development across safety- and performance-critical applications, in a collaboration with QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited, The engagement will combine VVDN’s capabilities in hardware design and electronics manufacturing with QNX’s real-time operating systems and safety-certified tools.
The collaboration is set to address embedded system needs across automotive, industrial, medical, aerospace, defence, and robotics sectors. Use cases include software-defined vehicles (SDVs), Autonomous Driver Assistant System (ADAS), infotainment, and eMobility platforms.
For SDVs, VVDN will integrate QNX’s real-time operating systems (RTOS) and combine it with its own centralised Electronics Control Units and over-the-air update systems.
In ADAS and autonomous applications, Leveraging QNX’s real-time performance, with VVDN’s expertise in sensor fusion, AI/ML integration, and camera-based solutions for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.
In infotainment and cockpit systems, QNX’s operating systems will be paired with VVDN’s UI/UX and multimedia system development services.
Integrating VVDN’s battery management and EV power electronics systems for eMobility solutions with QNX software to meet compliance and performance standards.
“By combining our joint capabilities, we are positioned to meet the requirements of customers developing dependable embedded systems,” said Vivek Bansal, President and Co-founder of VVDN Technologies.
In non-automotive sectors, the companies aim to deliver solutions for medical, industrial automation, and defence platforms. VVDN’s hardware platforms will be offered with device drivers and board support packages optimised for QNX’s software suite.
“We see value in working with VVDN, whose hardware and firmware expertise aligns with QNX offerings.” said Dhiraj Handa, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asia-Pacific, QNX.
