Enhancing local manufacturing and sustainable mobility, Gujarat’s Wardwizard Innovations has joined hands with New York’s C4V to develop advanced lithium-ion batteries for its EVs.
Indian electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Wardwizard Innovations and Mobility Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with C4V, a New York-based company known for its expertise in lithium-ion battery technology.
The collaboration aims to enhance high-performance battery technology for EVs in line with India’s green mobility objectives. The solutions will be specifically tailored for Wardwizard’s range of electric scooters and three-wheelers.
C4V will contribute its knowledge in high-charging cycle battery packs, stable lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and optimised chemical compositions, all designed to withstand the Indian climate.
Moreover, both companies will collaborate on defining product specifications, developing prototypes, and conducting rigorous testing to ensure reliability and performance.
Additionally, they plan to localise battery production within India, supporting the country’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and advancing the goal of sustainable mobility.
Yatin Gupte, Chairman and Managing Director of Wardwizard, emphasised the significance of this collaboration in advancing EV technology and promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions.
Dr Shailesh Upreti, CEO of C4V, commented, “We are excited to bring our advanced battery technology to India and collaborate with Wardwizard to accelerate sustainable energy adoption.”
This move supports the ongoing transition towards sustainable energy and strengthens the companies’ positions as key players in the global EV market. Based in Vadodara, Gujarat, Wardwizard operates under the brands Joy e-bike and Joy e-rik, offering over ten EV models in India.
