Zollner, Avalon Form India JV

The joint venture will initially focus on serving the Indian operations of Zollner’s existing global customers

Zollner Elektronik AG and Avalon Technologies Limited have formed a strategic joint venture to manufacture printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and provide system integration services in India.

The partnership combines Zollner’s engineering, manufacturing expertise and global customer relationships with Avalon’s established manufacturing base, local supply chain and more than 25 years of experience in India’s electronics manufacturing services (EMS) sector.

The joint venture will initially focus on serving the Indian operations of Zollner’s existing global customers, providing them with manufacturing closer to their facilities and supporting the localisation of existing supply chains.

Avalon will further contribute capabilities in cable assemblies, wire harnesses, inductive components, plastics technology, sheet metal fabrication and machining. This will allow the partners to support the manufacturing of complex electronic and mechatronic products across a broader range of requirements.

For Zollner, the partnership expands its international manufacturing network and provides faster access to Indian production capacity without requiring the company to establish new infrastructure from the ground up.

Markus Aschenbrenner, Member of the Management Board, Zollner Elektronik AG, said India is becoming an increasingly important technology and manufacturing market and that the joint venture represents a long-term commitment to the country.

Kunhamed Bicha, Chairman and Managing Director, Avalon Technologies, said the partnership will expand Avalon’s customer access, open opportunities in new industries and strengthen its capabilities in manufacturing high-complexity products.
