In July 2014, Littelfuse launched the SPHV (unidirectional) and SPHV-C (bidirectional) series of 200 W discrete TVS diode arrays for protecting sensitive equipment from the damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD) and other over-voltage transients. These arrays can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes above the maximum level of the IEC61000-4-2 international standard without performance degradation and can safely dissipate up to 8 A of induced surge current with very low clamping voltages. They are well suited for replacing 0402-sized MLVs in applications such as automotive electronics, LED lighting modules, portable instrumentation, general purpose I/O, mobile and handheld devices, CAN and LIN buses, RS-232/RS-485 and various other low-speed I/Os.
