Dash Dynamic Private Limited, a Delhi-based startup, is transforming electromobility with its advanced wireless charging solutions.

Founded in 2020 by Robin Singh and Shashank Sawai, Dash Dynamic is a deep-tech startup committed to transforming the electromobility sector through advanced wireless charging technology. Robin notes that conventional plug-in chargers are ill-suited for a future dominated by electric vehicles due to their bulky infrastructure and ongoing maintenance demands. This realisation led to the development of Dash Dynamic’s wireless charging system, which removes the need for cables and physical charging stations. With this solution, drivers can simply park over a ground-embedded pad and initiate charging via a mobile app, without leaving the vehicle.

Explaining the company name, Robin says, “Dash Dynamic” reflects its dual vision. ‘Dash’ represents fast, effortless static charging—where users just park and charge—while ‘Dynamic’ signals the future possibility of charging vehicles in motion.

The wireless charging system comprises two components: one is installed inside the vehicle during manufacturing, and the other is embedded in the ground. This setup allows electric vehicle users to charge by parking over the charger. The accompanying mobile application offers a full Internet of Things (IoT) experience, enabling users to monitor the state of charge, track charging duration, and control the process remotely.

Dash Dynamic’s wireless charging technology is being developed for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and drones. For drones, a 700-watt charger has been designed to extend operational range, currently being piloted with manufacturers under a B2B model. Chargers for two-wheelers are rated at 1200 watts, while four-wheeler systems operate at 11 kilowatts.

The startup primarily targets electric vehicle manufacturers and charge point operators, with a dual-focus strategy ensuring that wirelessly enabled vehicles are supported by compatible infrastructure. Dash Dynamic also caters to UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) manufacturers, two- and four-wheeler EV makers, and both private and public charge point operators.

The company has filed for a patent and anticipates approval soon, with 30 additional patents in the pipeline to protect its intellectual property.

Regarding installation, Robin highlights the system’s cost-effectiveness. Unlike conventional plug-in stations, which require extensive civil works such as canopies and plinths, Dash Dynamic’s charger can be placed either above or below ground and secured with cement. This significantly reduces both complexity and cost.

“Safety is one of the key benefits of this non-contact technology,” Robin adds. “The system includes foreign object detection, automatically halting charging if an object or animal enters the area. It also complies with international electromagnetic safety standards, making it safe even for individuals with pacemakers.”

Currently, Dash Dynamic operates as a design and development company. Manufacturing is outsourced to Indian SMEs and MSMEs, while final assembly and testing are conducted in-house for pilot deployments. Commercial production will commence once agreements are secured with EV manufacturers and charge point operators.

The startup is in a pre-revenue phase and has raised $1 million to develop and pilot its wireless charging technology. Its commercialisation path includes completing pilot testing with EV manufacturers, obtaining certifications (an eight-month process), and launching in the market by early 2027.

The wireless charger includes smart features such as remote monitoring, usage analytics, and complete mobile app integration. It is engineered to withstand extreme weather conditions and holds an IP67 rating, ensuring protection from water, mud, and other environmental factors.

Looking ahead, Dash Dynamic is focused on building a wireless charging ecosystem for all categories of electric vehicles, including future prospects such as cycles and heavy-duty trucks. The company is also exploring dynamic wireless charging, where vehicles charge while in motion, addressing range anxiety. A retrofit model for vehicles not originally equipped by OEMs is also planned, though this remains a long-term goal, projected for rollout 3-4 years after the static charging system’s commercial launch.

Dash Dynamic is headquartered at the Research and Innovation Park at IIT Delhi and operates with a 15-member team. The core team is led by Dr Kiran Pandav, an expert in converter design, and Dr Pushpendra Yadav, a specialist in coil design. Both hold advanced degrees in wireless power transfer and have led their respective teams through the technology’s development and refinement.

For future production, the company plans to partner with large conglomerates willing to establish manufacturing lines based on order volumes.
