Automated Tethered Drone With Dark Mode: Khronos

With a 24-hours flight time and Dragon Eye, the RF silent drone gets airborne in 2 minutes.

Elistair, a French droneautics company, has unveiled KHRONOS, an automated tethered drone system designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions in environments where GPS/GNSS and RF signals are compromised.

The tethered drone system features rapid deployment capabilities, with an automatic takeoff and landing sequence that gets it airborne in under 2 minutes. Weighing 66 pounds, it can hover at a height of 60 meters (197 feet), over a 10km radius. It is designed with a 24-hour flight time for ISR

The drone  features Follow-Me technology which ensures the drone remains focused on the target area or subject. For topmost security it is GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) denied and RF (Radio Frequency) silent. It has an ability to function in both GPS/GNSS-denied and RF-denied environments, thanks to its advanced positioning system and secured tethered communications. With lights-off feature, it has a dark mode capability.

The landing station is equipped with a 70-meter (230-feet) tether for continuous power and secure, high-speed data transfer. It can be set up on a mobile or fixed platform. The drone is built to be shock-resistant and ruggedized, suitable for challenging environments.

T-Planner 2 Software, Elistair’s proprietary advanced mission software, offers intelligent image analysis and simplified control. It offers automated object categorization and cued camera slewing It allows for quick response, with operators able to start missions rapidly upon arrival. Automated Flight Profile ensures ease of operation with automated flight paths. It has advanced capabilities for target identification and tracking. The system is designed with a built-in open API, supporting a wide range of applications and integrations.

The drone has compatible payloads including an EO/IR sensor, Raptor, and camera, Dragon Eye. Raptor is an electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensor compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), featuring an X80 EO zoom and capabilities for classification and tracking, providing actionable intelligence. Dragon Eye is a lightweight (115g) dual EO-IR, stabilized camera offering long-range surveillance.
