GX Group Aligns with Atmanirbhar Ambition

GX Group, in a strategic move, is investing Rs 100 crore to expand its Indian manufacturing unit. The company is partnering with SMEs and sub-vendors, building a self-reliant broadband equipment ecosystem together.

GX Group, a telecom gear maker specialising in GPON gears for fibre-based broadband networks, is investing Rs 100 crore this fiscal year to expand its manufacturing unit in India. This move is not just about business growth, but about contributing to India’s self-reliance. The company is partnering with SMEs and sub-vendors for raw materials, training them with the European Union, and aims to build an ecosystem for broadband equipment components, all in the pursuit of ‘Atmanirbhar’. 

As part of its ambitious plans, GX Group is not just expanding its telecom infrastructure network, but also aiming to position India as the Global Hub. This vision is driving the company to transfer technology and knowledge, and invest in its research and development centre in Chennai. 

The company manufactures Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) gears necessary for fibre-based broadband networks. In India, GX Group also produces routers, switches, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. 

Through the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme and government incentives, the Haryana-based telecom company achieved a 40 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth, transitioning from a Rs 300 crore to a Rs 500 crore company within the next two financial years.

The company also anticipates a 120 per cent increase in exports to major telcos in Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asian countries, primarily due to shifting from software to hardware exports.

According to GX Group CEO Paritosh Prajapati, the company is growing production capacity to support new markets and product lines, and the new facility is under evaluation. It is also in talks with State governments like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and UP for the best possible access to the export market and skilled manpower availability. 

He said that GX Group’s production capacity has increased nearly five times since the day of the inception of our manufacturing facility. The land, machinery and building will cost around Rs 100 crores. 

The company is increasing local value, reducing costs, and delivering products on time. They aim to grow together, primarily partnering with SMEs and sub-vendors for consumables and raw materials, training them with their European Union manufacturing team and developing an ecosystem focused on components for broadband equipment to become Atmanirbhar.
