HMIL partners with Charge Zone to install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 dealerships, enhancing EV charging network and boosting electric vehicle adoption.
On Wednesday, Hyundai Motor India (HIML) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Charge Zone at HMIL headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana. Under the MoU Charge zone, 60 kW DC fast chargers will be installed across 100 Hyundai dealerships nationwide. This partnership will provide convenient charging access for all EV users, including non-Hyundai owners, through the ‘myHyundai’ or ‘CHARGE ZONE’ apps. With the collaboration with CHARGE ZONE, the South Korean carmaker wants to enhance its charging infrastructure further and lure more buyers to shift to cleaner mobility. This strategic collaboration is intended to aid in expanding public EV charging facilities, thereby providing convenience for both intercity and intracity travel due to the advantageous locations of Hyundai dealerships in cities and along highways. Contributing to India’s carbon neutrality goals.
Additionally, this strategic move is set against the backdrop of Hyundai’s forthcoming $3.5 billion initial public offering (IPO) for its Indian unit, underscoring its commitment to the Indian market and electrification goals.
Kartikey Hariyani of Charge Zone emphasized the improvement of infrastructure for 4-wheel Electric Vehicles (BEVs) through the collaboration with Hyundai, ensuring reliable and seamless access to charging stations.
