ISRO, Schneider Electric Extend Collaboration To Boost India’s Space Missions

Extending a 15-year partnership, ISRO and Schneider Electric boost space missions with advanced automation at Sriharikota.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has extended its long-standing partnership with technology solutions provider Schneider Electric to enhance automation systems at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota. The collaboration, announced on Tuesday, aims to strengthen operations for India’s launch vehicle and satellite missions.

Schneider Electric said its advanced automation technology will support ISRO’s growing portfolio of space missions, including the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight programme. “For over 15 years, we have partnered with ISRO, contributing to critical milestones that have propelled India’s stature in the global space community,” said Deepak Sharma, Zone President, Greater India, MD & CEO, Schneider Electric India. He added that the company’s focus remains on delivering precision, reliability, and sustainability in mission-critical environments.

ISRO, which leads India’s space exploration and satellite launch efforts, has ambitious plans for the coming years, including interplanetary exploration and Gaganyaan, India’s first human spaceflight. In August, ISRO successfully conducted its first Integrated Air Drop Test of the parachute-based deceleration system for the mission, in collaboration with the Indian Air Force, DRDO, Indian Navy, and Indian Coast Guard.

Schneider Electric has previously supported ISRO on key missions such as Chandrayaan-3 in 2023 and the GSLV-F16/NISAR mission in 2025. The company has implemented several automation systems at SDSC SHAR, establishing itself as a critical technology partner.

The partnership has now been formalised to expand Schneider Electric’s deployments at Sriharikota, ensuring advanced infrastructure support for India’s future missions. Schneider Electric, majority-owned by its French parent, also completed the merger of its low-voltage and automation business in India with Larsen & Toubro’s electrical and automation division.

With ISRO accelerating its space ambitions, the extended collaboration is expected to play a key role in enabling India’s mission-readiness.
