Driving innovation from silicon to systems, Synopsys marks 30 years in India with a new Bengaluru R&D hub.
Synopsys, a leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, celebrated 30 years of operations in India with the inauguration of a new research and development facility at Bagmane Capital. The state-of-the-art centre spans over 455,000 square feet, offering advanced capabilities in EDA, semiconductor IP, verification, and system design solutions to support both global and regional customers.
Synopsys President and CEO, Sassine Ghazi, and Executive Chair and Founder, Dr Aart de Geus, attended the opening ceremony. “India has been a key part of the Synopsys story for 30 years,” said Ghazi. “From our first R&D centre in Bengaluru to the thriving network of engineers today, India is a vital hub of innovation and talent. We provide silicon-to-systems solutions that enable technology teams to realise their innovations.”
Since its entry into India in 1995, Synopsys has expanded to seven cities, with about one-third of its global workforce now based in the country, predominantly in engineering roles. Over the past three decades, the company has collaborated with more than 100 global and regional organisations, driving advances in semiconductors, automotive, AI, and next-generation computing.
The milestone coincides with Synopsys’ acquisition of Ansys in July 2025, integrating predictive simulation capabilities with Synopsys’ EDA stack. The combined solutions are expected to launch in the first half of 2026, enhancing engineers’ ability to innovate faster and improve product performance across industries, including automotive, aerospace, industrial, and healthcare.
The new Bengaluru facility underscores Synopsys’ commitment to India as a global innovation hub and its continued role as a mission-critical enabler of the nation’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.
