Amid ongoing transformation, Intel appoints Aparna Bawa to unify legal and people functions, aiming to strengthen governance and execution across its global operations.
Intel Corporation has named Aparna Bawa as Executive Vice-President and Chief Legal and People Officer, as the company continues efforts to strengthen leadership and execution during an ongoing transformation.
She will report directly to Chief Executive Lip-Bu Tan and is set to join in May 2026.
In the newly created role, Bawa will oversee Intel’s global legal, ethics, compliance, and human resources functions, as well as its broader people and culture strategy.
According to Intel, the appointment brings these areas under a single leadership structure at a time when it is seeking to align governance, talent, and operational priorities.
Tan said the integration of legal and people functions is increasingly important as Intel advances its transformation agenda.
“She understands that culture and execution go hand in hand. I am excited to have her join the team next month as we build a stronger and more agile Intel,” he noted.
Bawa joins Intel from Zoom Video Communications, where she served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing operational, legal, and people functions during a phase of rapid global expansion. She previously served as Chief Legal Officer at Zoom and as an independent board member at Palo Alto Networks.
Earlier in her career, Bawa held senior legal and leadership positions at Magento Commerce, Nimble Storage, and Inphi Corporation. Her experience spans corporate governance, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, and organisational transformation across technology companies.
At Intel, she is expected to focus on strengthening legal and compliance frameworks while advancing a performance-driven organisational culture. Her responsibilities will include aligning the company’s people strategy with long-term business objectives and supporting leadership development and governance practices.
