XElectron Intends to Achieve 50% Growth in FY27 with New Store Launch in Dehradun

After establishing a presence in the Delhi-NCR region, Xelectron plans to expand into Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, and other major cities.

XElectron Technologies is betting on India’s growing appetite for affordable smart entertainment products, with plans to expand its retail footprint, strengthen quick-commerce presence, and achieve up to 50% growth in FY27.

Speaking exclusively to EFY, Gagan Sharma, Managing Director of XElectron, said the company has evolved significantly since its inception in 2013. Initially launching digital photo frames, the company later expanded into smart projectors, LED televisions, and portable monitors, creating a portfolio focused on emerging and lifestyle-oriented electronics products.

“Our products are not conventional electronics. We bring categories that are already popular in Europe and the US and introduce them to Indian consumers at affordable price points,” he said.

Today, projectors contribute the largest share of the company’s revenue. According to Gagan, the rise of OTT platforms and changing entertainment habits after the pandemic have accelerated demand for home projection systems.

“Consumers want larger screens without spending ₹300,000 on a 100-inch television. Our smart projectors can create 100 to 300-inch viewing experiences at a fraction of that cost,” he explained.

While XElectron designs all its products internally, manufacturing is split across locations. LED televisions are manufactured in India at the company’s Noida facility, while projectors, portable monitors, and digital photo frames are produced by overseas manufacturing partners to Xelectron’s designs and specifications.

The company currently employs around 30 people, with nearly half engaged in assembly, packaging, and production-related activities.

Gagan noted that India’s television manufacturing ecosystem has matured significantly, with most TV components now available locally for models up to 65 inches.

One of the biggest challenges facing the company today is the rising cost and limited availability of DDR RAM, a critical component used in smart televisions, projectors, and digital photo frames.

“The AI boom has significantly increased demand for DDR RAM globally. We anticipated the shortage and secured inventory in advance for the current year, but future pricing remains uncertain,” he said.

Rather than compromise on quality, Xelectron has opted to increase prices where necessary. “We will never switch to refurbished components simply to maintain pricing. If costs rise, we prefer adjusting prices while maintaining product quality,” Gagan added.

The company relies heavily on customer reviews from e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart to guide product improvements. “Customer reviews are the biggest mirror of our product quality. We continuously upgrade our products based on user feedback,” he said.

XElectron has been selling through major online marketplaces since its early years in India and continues to view e-commerce as its primary growth channel.

Beyond online sales, the company currently operates two experience stores in Ghaziabad and Noida. Its Noida outlet houses what the company describes as India’s first projector experience centre, allowing customers to test multiple projector models before making a purchase.

The next expansion target is Dehradun, where XElectron plans to launch a flagship brand store on Rajpur Road, potentially by September.

“The goal of our retail stores is not only sales but also product experience. Customers can understand the advantages of categories like projectors, digital photo frames, and portable monitors before making a purchase,” Gagan said.

The company is also expanding beyond traditional e-commerce into quick commerce. After establishing a presence on Blinkit in the Delhi-NCR region, Xelectron plans to expand into Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, and other major cities.

According to Gagan, nationwide expansion of quick commerce could significantly accelerate sales growth over the next few years.

XElectron reported revenue of approximately ₹250 million in FY26, representing 45% year-on-year growth. The company expects to maintain similar momentum in the current financial year and is targeting growth of up to 50%.

Despite increasing competition in consumer electronics, Gagan believes XElectron’s focus on niche product categories gives it a distinct advantage.

“Portable monitors and digital photo frames remain relatively untapped categories in India. Combined with our focus on smart projectors and product quality, we believe there is significant room for growth,” he said.

The company also maintains its commitment to sustainability through EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) compliance and authorised e-waste recycling partnerships.

Looking ahead, XElectron plans to strengthen both its physical and digital presence while continuing to introduce innovative consumer electronics products tailored to evolving Indian consumer preferences.
