Tripathi’s appointment comes as BEL continues to expand its capabilities across defence and strategic technologies
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has appointed Ambrish Tripathi as Director (Human Resources), effective August 13, 2026. He previously served as General Manager of BEL’s Kotdwar Unit, a position he held since January 2024.
Tripathi holds a BE degree from NIT Allahabad and an Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a specialisation in HR from Symbiosis Pune. He is also a PMP-certified professional from PMI, USA.
With extensive experience across human resources, workforce development, digital transformation, employee engagement and organisational capability building, Tripathi has held several key assignments during his career at BEL.
As General Manager of the Kotdwar Unit, he led initiatives focused on workforce development, recruitment, employee engagement and organisational efficiency. During his tenure, the unit recorded 75% growth, achieved a turnover of ₹1,058 crore, and received Platinum recognition under the CII Excellence programme and the Kalinga Safety Award.
Addressing the challenge of retaining skilled talent at the remote Kotdwar location, Tripathi introduced recruitment initiatives including campus hiring from regional colleges, recruitment of ex-servicemen and engagement of trained apprentices. These initiatives resulted in zero attrition over the past two years and the induction of more than 150 professionals.
His focus on workforce capability development also supported the development of the Kawach system for Indian Railways within a short timeframe. He further drove CSR initiatives worth more than ₹15 crore and contributed to digital learning initiatives involving platforms such as Udemy and Coursera.
As Director (HR), Tripathi plans to position HR as a strategic driver of growth, innovation and employee excellence. His priorities include talent transformation, agile leadership, inclusive employee wellbeing and digital transformation of HR processes.
BEL said his focus will include AI-driven HR platforms for employee lifecycle management, real-time performance analytics, transparent processes and data-driven decision-making. He also aims to build a future-ready workforce through continuous learning, performance orientation and leadership development.
Tripathi’s appointment comes as BEL continues to expand its capabilities across defence and strategic technologies. His experience in HR transformation, workforce development and digitalisation is expected to support the company’s human capital requirements and long-term growth
