Pulsiv Signs Manufacturing Deal for High-Power USB-C Modules

Pulsiv has developed its modules using its patented OSMIUM AC-DC conversion technology

UK-based power electronics company Pulsiv has signed an exclusive manufacturing and supply agreement with Delta-Matrix, part of the Easby Group, for volume production of its next-generation USB-C power modules designed for fixed installations.

Under the agreement, Delta-Matrix will become Pulsiv’s long-term manufacturing partner for its high-power USB-C product range. The companies have already collaborated on production optimisation, covering component supply chains, assembly, testing, and logistics.

Jason Crabtree, CEO, Easby Group, said the Delta-Matrix team had worked with Pulsiv on the technology for more than two years and will support the production and global availability of the modules.

In addition to manufacturing, Easby Group will become an official distribution partner for Pulsiv. Its sales teams will market and distribute the USB-C modules across the UK, Ireland, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, India, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.

The modules are designed for applications such as electrical wall sockets, public charging points, hotels, offices, homes, and furniture-integrated charging systems.

The growing adoption of high-power USB-C charging is creating new challenges for fixed installations, particularly with the forthcoming EN IEC 63418 requirements. The standard covers fixed accessories intended for household and similar applications that supply power through an interface.

The requirements include standardised testing, lower temperature rise on internal housing surfaces in contact with cable insulation, and at least four hours of operation at the advertised output power without activating over-temperature protection.

Pulsiv has developed its modules using its patented OSMIUM AC-DC conversion technology, with the company saying the fully assembled, unpotted modules are designed to simplify integration into in-wall USB-C charging products.

The initial module delivers 65W nominal output power, with up to 73W dynamic boost power, and supports continuous operation at full power for at least four hours. It is also designed to operate without thermal cut-off or power derating and features zero inrush current.

Pulsiv’s product roadmap includes fully assembled in-wall USB-C sockets ranging from 45W to 240W, with different connector configurations and an optional extended-reliability version for demanding applications.
