The partnership is aimed at improving project economics, system efficiency, and grid reliability
AmpereHour Energy has partnered with Ampt to distribute and service Ampt’s DC power management products across India, South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
The partnership combines Ampt’s String Optimisers and Direct-to-Battery (D2B) DC-coupled architecture with AmpereHour Energy’s battery energy storage system (BESS) integration, energy management software, and project services.
The companies said the collaboration will focus on energy storage applications including utility-scale solar-plus-BESS projects, data centres, DC charging infrastructure for EVs, solar repowering, PV-only systems, co-located green hydrogen projects, and battery capacity augmentation.
Ampt’s D2B technology connects solar PV arrays directly to the battery DC bus. According to the companies, this architecture can reduce system capital expenditure, improve round-trip energy efficiency, and enhance long-term system performance and reliability.
The integrated solution combines AmpereHour Energy’s energy storage system, DC recombiner, and Energy Management System with Ampt’s String Optimisers. The system uses real-time control algorithms for performance, operational safety, and risk management.
Ampt’s String Optimisers are DC/DC converters deployed at the PV array level. They perform string-level maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to improve solar generation while tracking battery voltage during charging and discharging.
“Firm, dispatchable renewable power is now the defining requirement of the energy transition,” said Aaron Gomolak, CEO, Ampt. “Our partnership with AmpereHour accelerates the deployment of high-efficiency DC-coupled storage across India, the Middle East, Africa and other high-growth markets.”
Ayush Misra, Co-founder and CEO, AmpereHour Energy, said, “Partnering with Ampt allows us to deliver state-of-the-art, cost-optimised solar-plus-storage solutions to our project developers and utility clients.”
The companies said the partnership is aimed at improving project economics, system efficiency, and grid reliability as demand for renewable energy and energy storage continues to grow across the target markets.
