Status of Grant of Interim Extension under CRS

IESA to conduct a study on ‘Indian ESDM Market

Department of Electronics and IT (DeitY) is supporting Indian Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) to undertake a study with the objective to identify top 25 electronics product markets in India and draw a roadmap for their growth. The proposed report would also identify common components used in these products and evaluate strategies to promote the manufacturing ecosystem for these components and products in India and focus on evaluating the levels of indigenous value addition in high potent electronics product markets, and, the components that comprise a majority proportion of their value. This understanding will help in drawing conclusions on initiatives needed to build the ecosystem also. This business-focused report will serve as a useful reference for various stakeholders. As per preliminary assessment, the top 25 products identified by IESA are:

Status of Grant of Interim Extension under CRS

Grant of Interim Extension to Manufacturers of the fifteen notified goods under the Compulsory Registration Scheme has been progressing smoothly. The status in this regard as on August 29, 2013 is as follows. Over 647 applications were received by DeitY and over 518 Extension Orders issued by DeitY. Remaining applications are in advanced stages of scrutiny. Details from BIS regarding number of applications received and the number of registrations issued, were not readily available.
