“We Are Strengthening Supply Chains, Automation, And Talent To Drive Scalable, Sustainable Manufacturing Growth” – Jayaramu N, From Aimtron Electronics

In an interaction with EFY’s Nitisha Dubey, Jayaramu N, from Aimtron Electronics, shares insights into key government initiatives, sector challenges, and the company’s strategic growth and expansion plans.

Q. How have Gujarat government policies supported Aimtron Electronics’ growth and expansion?

A. The Gujarat government’s policies have supported the growth and expansion of the electronics sector through dedicated electronics policies and alignment with central schemes. Projects approved by the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) under the central Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) automatically qualify for dual incentives (central and state) and priority disbursal within 30 days. These incentives support the production of critical components such as multilayer and HDI PCBs, lithium-ion cells, SMD passive components, display and camera modules, electronic parts, and specialised machinery. By integrating with the central ECMS, Gujarat ensures smoother approvals, faster incentive flows, and closer alignment with India’s Make in India and electronics supply-chain initiatives.

Q. Which state incentives or initiatives have been most beneficial for your operations in Gujarat?

  • Capital and investment support
  • Electronics manufacturing clusters
  • Duty waivers, freight support
  • Common facilities and logistics
  • R&D, innovation, and skill development support
  • Job creation and global value chain integration
  • Alignment with central schemes
  • Uninterrupted and quality power supply to GIDC

Q. How easy is it to find and retain skilled manpower in Gujarat’s electronics ecosystem?

A. Finding and retaining skilled manpower in Gujarat’s electronics ecosystem is improving steadily. The state’s strong focus on industrial development has encouraged training institutes and vocational programmes that are helping build a relevant talent pool. Aimtron Foundation is engaged and has joint ventures with various universities to develop industry-relevant skills, including component soldering techniques, hardware testing, and development training.

Retention remains a priority, and we invest in a supportive work culture and continuous training to keep our talent engaged.

Q. How was your overall experience participating in the EFY Expo?

A. Our experience at the EFY Expo was highly positive. The event was smoothly managed, the audience was relevant, and it offered productive interactions and strong visibility. We connected with several potential customers and strategic partners, opening new opportunities for collaboration and business growth.

Q. What are Aimtron Electronics’ key growth and expansion plans over the next few years?

A. Over the next few years, we have planned to expand our manufacturing services with ESDM solutions, strengthen our presence in key domestic and international markets, and scale our manufacturing capabilities. We are also investing in Mechatronics to drive innovation, enhance customer value, and position ourselves as a one-stop solution for ODM/OEM and ESDM. Our growth plans include expanding into new market segments, forging strategic partnerships, and increasing production capacity to meet rising demand while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction.

Q. What are the major challenges you currently face in manufacturing and scaling operations?

A. The key challenges include managing supply chain volatility driven by geopolitical issues, maintaining consistent quality as production scales, and optimising costs without compromising performance or reliability.

Q. How are you addressing these challenges to ensure sustainable growth?

A. We are addressing these challenges by strengthening our supply chain partnerships, directly engaging with original component manufacturers, investing in process automation, and continuously improving quality and operational efficiency. At the same time, we are scaling manufacturing capacity in phases while strengthening talent development and scalable systems to support long-term, sustainable growth.
