India And Poland Explore Defence Electronics Partnerships

Defence electronics and space hardware could open fresh avenues for India and Poland, but how far can their technology partnerships go?

India and Poland are digging into joint R&D and investment possibilities, specifically within the realms of defence electronics and space hardware. This push comes after Jitin Prasada, the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, sat down with key Polish tech leaders in Warsaw. The goal? Strengthening cooperation across strategic technology sectors through industrial collaboration and shared innovation.

His visit to WB Group brought him face-to-face with President Piotr Wojciechowski. They didn’t waste time. Talks centered on next-gen defence electronics, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and advanced communication tech. Autonomous systems and tactical electronics were also on the table, with a sharp focus on how research collaboration can drive innovation.

Then there was Creotech Instruments, a Polish space technology firm. Prasada met Dr. Grzegorz Brona, the co-founder, alongside Deputy CEO Grzegorz Wrochna. The conversation shifted toward micro-satellites, space hardware, and quantum technologies. They explored where joint R&D and investment could take hold within India’s growing space sector.

Supply chains got some attention, too. Adam Holewa, Board Member of Boryszew Group and CEO of Maflow & BAP Group, joined the mix. They looked at technical cooperation and joint ventures, leaning heavily on the Make in India initiative and Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes. The objective remains clear: bolster global supply chains.

Digital talent and AI entered the fray during talks with Gaweł Łopiński, CEO of Billennium. Potential investments in cloud transformation and artificial intelligence were discussed, tapping into India’s digital ecosystem. Billennium already operates in Pune, giving them a foothold. These engagements aren’t isolated events; they’re part of a broader effort by both nations to expand their industrial and technology partnerships.
