Honda Teams Up with Vitesco for E-Market Invasion

As per the reports, Vitesco Technologies joined hands with Honda for its new e:Ny1 SUV launching in Europe, The global supplier of advanced drive technologies and electrification solutions will power Honda with its groundbreaking E-Drive system.

The electric drive system is a revolutionary 3-in-1 unit that merges power electronics, electric motor and reducer functionalities. This third-gen axle drive by Vitesco stands out with its peak power of 150 kW and a torque of 310 Nm, all at a manageable weight of 76 kilograms. This will enable the e:Ny1 to harness a limited top speed ok 160km/h, which is set to hit the European markets in October 2023.

Having developed manufacturing and R&D facilities in important markets across the world, Thomas Stierle, the division leader of Vitesco Technologies’ Electrification Solutions and a member of the Executive Board, sees this partnership as a vindication of Vitesco Technologies’ global strategy. Further, he said, “It is an honour for us to deliver our successful electric axle drive to Honda for its new e:Ny1 model. We also see this business as a confirmation of our global strategy with well-established manufacturing and R&D sites in core world markets.”

The newer model, It’s constructed on Honda’s e:N Architecture F, a front-wheel-drive platform, and features a 4-door B-segment configuration with an impressive maximum distance of 412 km as per WLTP testing standards. With numerous units produced since 2019 and selection by eight car brands as of June 2023, the EMR3 continues to enjoy robust demand, cementing its stature as a top pick among electric vehicle producers.
