New investment to support next-generation facility expansion
Air Products has secured a long-term deal through its subsidiary, Air Products San Fu, to support a major semiconductor manufacturer’s expansion in Taiwan, strengthening its position in the island’s fast-growing chip manufacturing ecosystem.
In this deal, Air Products San Fu will build, own, and operate four advanced air separation units (ASUs) along with bulk gas supply systems and new underground pipeline infrastructure. The facilities will supply critical industrial gases—including nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and helium—to multiple new semiconductor fabrication plants and advanced packaging facilities catering to increasing demand from artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.
The new underground pipeline systems will integrate with Air Products’ existing pipeline network in Taiwan, enhancing supply reliability, operational efficiency, and resilience for semiconductor manufacturing operations.
“Air Products is honored to be selected by our strategic customer to support their continued growth, building on our proven track record and strong long-term partnership,” said Paul Yang, President of Air Products San Fu. “This project reinforces our role as a trusted supplier in Taiwan and reflects our long-term commitment to grow with our customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence.”
Air Products has operated in Taiwan for over 70 years through Air Products San Fu and maintains an extensive pipeline network across key science parks. The company also operates one of the world’s largest ultra-high-purity nitrogen pipeline systems in southern Taiwan and was the first gas supplier in the country to achieve both ISO 9002 and ISO 14000 certifications.
The latest project expands Air Products’ integrated supply network across front-end semiconductor manufacturing and back-end advanced packaging, reinforcing its role in supporting Taiwan’s rapidly expanding semiconductor industry. With more than four decades of experience serving the global electronics sector, Air Products continues to provide industrial gases to leading technology companies worldwide.
