Ambarella Joins Forces With Capgemini to Drive Physical AI Adoption

Strategic partnership set to accelerate the roll-out of edge computing technologies across industrial, healthcare, and automotive sectors.

Edge AI semiconductor firm Ambarella and technology consultancy Capgemini have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the global deployment of Edge and Physical AI technologies.

The collaboration will focus on delivering real-time artificial intelligence processing across a broad range of sectors, including industrial automation, smart infrastructure, automotive, healthcare, and retail logistics. By running algorithms directly on physical equipment—such as cameras, autonomous vehicles, and robotic systems—the technology enables data to be processed locally rather than relying on distant data centres.

To support this expansion, Capgemini will provide engineering, systems integration, and domain expertise. The consultancy will also assist in establishing a dedicated global Edge and Physical AI Centre of Excellence. This facility will handle solution development, proof-of-concept testing, and technology validation to prepare system architectures for enterprise-scale deployment.

Ambarella, which has supplied over 50 million AI system-on-chip units worldwide for applications spanning security cameras to aerial drones, aims to offer fully integrated end-to-end solutions. The company’s low-power processors combine neural network accelerators with programmable software to enable varying degrees of machine autonomy.

“Edge and Physical AI represent an important opportunity to extend AI from the data center into cameras, robots, vehicles, machines and other systems that perceive and interact directly with the physical world,” said Fermi Wang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ambarella.

“Customers increasingly need full stack solutions that combine AI compute, software, and applications on integrated systems. Our work with Capgemini will help create a scalable path from Ambarella technology to enterprise applications and ultimately, production deployments.” he added.

Through this joint initiative, enterprise clients will be able to evaluate and integrate tailored AI applications, helping shorten the path from initial design concepts to full production.
