Gurugram based drone manufacturer AVPL International has established a Drone Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Government ITI Govandi, Mumbai. This setup is done in a collaboration with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC).
According to the company, this new centre aims to strengthen industry-ready skills for unmanned aerial technologies.
The company will be providing structured and practical training in drone operations and real-world UAV applications, equipping students with the capabilities required to participate in India’s rapidly expanding drone ecosystem.
The facility will train students primarily in four types of drones, including 10-litre agricultural drones, surveillance drones, payload delivery drones, and search-and-rescue drones.
Dr. Preet Sandhu, Founder & MD, AVPL International aims to build a skilled workforce that can support India’s rapidly expanding UAV industry. “Establishing this Centre of Excellence at Government ITI Govandi is part of our broader aim to make advanced drone training accessible within the technical education ecosystem”, she added.

The lab aims to provide students with practical modules and guided operational training for precision agriculture, security operations, logistics services, and emergency response technologies.
According to the company, senior representatives of Ericsson and the Telecom Sector Skill Council appreciated the facility during their visit and recognised the lab’s potential for drone skilling infrastructure across technical institutions in India.
