At the Bharat Electricity Summit, Infineon joins forces with Zenergize to bring advanced semiconductor technology to India’s clean-energy drive, spanning solar, EV charging, and storage.
Infineon Technologies AG has announced a technology partnership with the Indian power-electronics firm Zenergize to strengthen domestic innovation in renewable energy and electric mobility. The announcement was made at the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 in New Delhi, on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
The collaboration will see Infineon provide advanced wide-bandgap power semiconductors, including silicon carbide (SiC) technology, as well as engineering support for system-level integration. According to PTI, while the partnership focuses on product and technology integration, it does not involve a joint venture.
Infineon’s SiC technology is designed to deliver higher energy-conversion efficiency, reduced power losses, and greater power density compared with conventional silicon-based solutions.
This is expected to enhance the performance of solar inverters, electric vehicle chargers, and energy-storage systems under India’s demanding operating conditions.
“India’s energy-transition ambitions are among the most significant in the world, and Infineon is committed to being a long-term technology partner in this journey,” said Jens Reinstaedt, Vice President of Application Management Industrial and Infrastructure at Infineon.
He noted that Infineon’s expertise across silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride enables complete system solutions.
“This enables partners like Zenergize to build more efficient, compact, and reliable power-electronics products, optimised for India’s demanding operating conditions,” he mentioned.
Zenergize’s founder and chief technology officer, Veer Karan Goyal, highlighted that access to Infineon’s proven semiconductor technology, combined with local knowledge, would allow the company to design products suited for India and potentially global markets.
“It positions us to build products that are truly designed in India for India and eventually for the world,” he said.
India’s push towards renewable energy and electric mobility, supported by national programmes such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, is driving demand for domestically developed power-electronics systems.
In this scenario, Infineon sees this partnership with Zenergize as a contribution to building self-reliance in critical technologies while ensuring that products meet international standards.
The company, which has operated in India for nearly three decades and employs over 2,500 people across four sites, showcased its solutions at the Bharat Electricity Summit from 19–21 March 2026.
