Post-acquisition, Bosch Chassis Systems India will continue to operate as an independent entity, with governance oversight by Bosch Limited.
Bosch Limited, the flagship arm of the Bosch Group in India, has announced plans to acquire 100% stake in Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Limited as part of a strategic move to strengthen its mobility portfolio.
The acquisition, which will be executed through a combination of cash consideration and issuance of equity shares on a preferential basis, aims to integrate the Vehicle Motion business into Bosch Limited’s core operations. This move is expected to significantly enhance the company’s capabilities in automotive safety and braking technologies.
Bosch Chassis Systems India, a key player in the Vehicle Motion division, is among the market leaders in automotive safety systems. Its portfolio spans active safety solutions such as anti-lock braking systems (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and advanced braking technologies, along with passive safety systems including airbag ECUs and sensors. The company also provides actuation braking systems across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and commercial vehicles.
Commenting on the development, Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited, said the acquisition reflects the company’s focus on portfolio diversification and long-term growth. He added that integrating a future-ready vehicle motion solutions business would strengthen Bosch Limited’s leadership in mobility, supported by local R&D and manufacturing.
Post-acquisition, Bosch Chassis Systems India will continue to operate as an independent entity, with governance oversight by Bosch Limited.
Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director of Bosch Limited and President of Bosch Mobility India, highlighted that India’s mobility landscape is expected to undergo significant transformation by 2030, driven by sustainable and advanced technologies. He noted that the integration will enable Bosch to shift from component-level offerings to comprehensive, platform-based mobility solutions.
The transaction has received approvals from the boards of Bosch Group, Bosch Limited, and Bosch Chassis Systems India, and is currently subject to shareholder approval. Upon completion, Bosch Chassis Systems India will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch Limited.
This strategic realignment reinforces Bosch Limited’s vision to emerge as a preferred mobility partner, offering integrated solutions across vehicle systems, software, and hardware, while strengthening its position as a leading technology provider in the automotive sector.
